Super Bowl III featured the New York Jets and the Baltimore Colts, a David vs. Goliath match up. Joe Namath, quarterback of the Jets, guaranteed a victory against the heavily favored Colts. Coming through with his word, Namath upset the Colts, leading the Jets to a 16-7 Super Bowl win. Namath began his career in 1965, and in 1967 he became the first quarterback to pass for over 4,000 yards in a single season.
