Description
In 1986, the New York Mets clinched the National League Pennant by defeating the Houston Astros in the National League Championship Series. The Amazins' met up with the then cursed Boston Red Sox in one of baseball's most memorable World Series. The Mets staged an incredible come from behind extra inning victory in the sixth game, knocking the wind out of New England's sail. During Game 3, Dykstra hit a leadoff homerun, becoming the third Met in team history to do so, and aiding in the Met's defeat over the Boston team. The Red Sox eventually succeeded to the Mets in the seventh and decisive game.
